For 2017 - 18, Anthony Blair Dreaver Johnston, a member of Mistawasis Nehiyawak, has agreed to serve in the role of Indigenous Mentor with SENS. Anthony is the great-great-great grandson of Chief Mistawasis who was the first Chief to sign Treaty No. 6 in 1876. He has a BA in History from the University of Manitoba and worked has worked for the Province of Manitoba and the Federal Government in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. He currently works on special projects for Mistawasis Nehiyawak, and in 2016 - 17 worked to complete the Memorandum of Understanding between the First Nation and SENS.
In his role as Indigenous Mentor, Anthony will be a guest in several SENS courses, will help students set up research projects, will offer opportunities for cultural learning outside of our school and will be available to answer any questions upon request.
