Watch SENS Graduate’s Short Film: A Case for Transdisciplinarity

Ryan Sojnocki is a recent alumni of SENS' M.Ss. in Regenerative Sustainability program. He attended the 2025 Transdisciplinary International Learning Lab (TILL) in South Africa.

How do we navigate the complex social ecological problems we face today? In his short film, Ryan Sojnocki set out to explore how different ways of knowing—scientific research, traditional knowledge, lived experience, conservation practice, and community perspectives—can come together to help us better understand these challenges.

This film is Ryan’s Master's capstone in Regenerative Sustainability and an extension of The Regenerative Way—his YouTube channel dedicated to exploring how we reconnect with the places we depend on and imagine more regenerative ways forward.

This film grew out of his participation in the TRANSECTS TILL in South Africa last year, which introduced him to transdisciplinary ways of thinking and became a catalyst for this project. TRANSECTS later partnered with The Regenerative Way on two of the conversations featured in this film.

Check out the film and all the conversations on YouTube.
