Program Institutes

An opportunity for TRANSECTS members, partners, and TILL alumni to gather, exchange, and learn
Anthony Blair Dreaver Johnston and Michelle Watson share the Global Water Futures Mistawasis Nêhiyawak Water Gathering Statement to 2024 Program Institute participants

Participants will share research practices and outcomes in classrooms and field sites, engage in professional development workshops (e.g., best practices in student supervision and research practice with an EDI lens), and provide structured feedback on TRANSECTS

Program institutes are a space to network, co-design ongoing activities under TRANSECTS, and learn from and with each other all about transD. They will foster learning from one another in a safe, cross-cultural setting and support community-building, professional networking, and critical reflection of our pedagogy and research practice. Institute participants will also visit a local BR and meet with residents to discuss the activities of TRANSECTS, and invite feedback about their experiences as hosts.

Program Institutes are opportunities for the TRANSECTS network to gather in person, strengthening relationships and deepening collective understandings of transdisciplinarity in research and practice. TRANSECTS has held National and International Program Institutes held in South Africa, Canada, and Germany throughout 2024.
