TILL 2025

Transdisciplinary International Learning Lab

Apply as a trainee, mentor, or peer mentor for the upcoming TRANSECTS TILL hosted by the Garden Route Biosphere Reserve.

About TILL 2025

The Transdisciplinary International Learning Lab (TILL) is a fully funded international and intercultural learning experience for Senior Undergraduate students, Graduate students, and Postdoctoral Fellows, building skills in sustainability research and practice. It is being hosted by the Garden Route Biosphere Reserve (GRBR) in South Africa.

TILL 2025 consists of:

Online Foundational Course (April 14 – April 28, 2025)

Onsite Learning Lab Program (May 3 – June 20, 2025)

The TILL offers students from Canada, South Africa, and Germany the opportunity to deepen their professional, relational, and intercultural skills and provides an introduction to effectively apply transdisciplinary collaboration to tackle interconnected sustainability challenges. Under the mentorship of applied researchers and community partners, the international student teams will develop a systematic understanding of Coastal and Marine Protected Areas in the GRBR. Through a creative strategy design, student teams will address local issues that are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the GRBR’s research and development needs. The TILL is designed to create a community of practice in which participants share a common passion and desire to learn from one another. We seek a practice built on respect and reciprocity that is based on curiosity, collaboration, connection, and accountability.
