Dr. Vladimir (Volodymyr) Kricsfalusy, PhD is an Associate Professor in School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan. Vladimir is Placement Director for the Master of Sustainability: Regenerative Sustainability (MSs) program where he coordinates student training through community engaged projects. He teaches biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration and field methods to graduate students, as well as sustainability in action to undergraduate students.
Vladimir has worked in academia, government, NGOs and consulting firms in Canada and Eastern Europe for over 30 years. He conducted projects on environment and development issues as team leader or principal investigator for high-profile international programs (IDRC, Global Partnership Program, PHARE, TACIS, WWF, Regional Environmental Centre and others). He has experience in collaborating with biosphere reserves in Canada as well as Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and Italy. His research expertise is in biodiversity assessment at habitat, species and population levels, and conservation planning. Vladimir has authored/edited 20 books and over 100 academic articles.
