TRANSECTS
I'm an environmental social scientist and an Associate Professor at the School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan. I work in rural community settings in Latin America and Canada, where I learn how local and Indigenous peoples self-organize to enhance their land management, territorial governance, and environmental stewardship, and try in some small way to support them in these efforts. In recent years, I've explored the role that youth can play in these areas. As someone invested in community-engaged, applied research, I'm excited by TRANSECTS, the training it promises to provide students interested in similar work, and the opportunity if affords (to everybody involved) for cross-cultural learning.
