TRANSECTS

Ryan Walker is a professor of geography and planning and associate dean of graduate and postdoctoral studies at the University of Saskatchewan. His expertise is in urban planning and urban geography as well as graduate studies policy and programming. Some highlights of past experiences include work with the Jane Goodall Institute in Tanzania, with Fundza in Swaziland, and with Massey University in New Zealand. He’s a member of the Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute, Canadian Institute of Planners, Canadian Association of Geographers, Jane Goodall Institute Canada, Saskatoon Wildlife Federation, and Saskatoon Heritage Society. Ryan serves as chair of the board of directors for the Meewasin Valley Authority, Canada’s largest urban conservation zone, and enjoys spending time in the Qu’Appelle Valley in the summers and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hunting in the fall/winters around Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
