The award honours a graduate student who has shown strong leadership and exceptional initiative at the University of Saskatchewan, going above and beyond the call of duty.

Kamal's extensive extracurricular involvement in leadership positions, particularly in the School of Environment and Sustainability Student Association (SENSSA) made him stand out among several distinguished nominees.

"The University of Saskatchewan has so many opportunities for students," Kamal said, "and I have been fortunate to pay it forward by contributing to this vibrant community in various volunteer and leadership roles. Thank you to the GSA for this award.”

The award ceremony is tentatively scheduled for April 4, 2020.
